As St George, Utah's Premier Newborn Photographer, I get a lot of inquiries for newborn sessions after the baby has already been born.
And it is completely fine!
The only down fall to the older age of the baby is getting them to sleep for those adorable newborn photography poses. Most of the late-scheduled-newborns are at least one month old, or even 5-6 weeks old. When this happens I always recommend a Mini Newborn Session rather than a full photography session. All indoor sessions are done in my studio located in Southern Utah, specifically Leeds, UT.
When Kennedy called to schedule Ayvah's photo session, that is exactly what I had recommend!
Ayvah was almost 6 weeks old when she came into my studio. It took her a minute to fall asleep. But with the help of a pacifier, she succumbed to some sweet dreams while I was able to play.
During her session, Kennedy, Ayvah's mother, told me the story of Ayvah and her pregnancy. Ayvah is a twin with a sibling in heaven watching over her. I wanted to photograph a special commemoration of her angel sibling, and what a beautiful image it turned out to be. My heart melted to see her hold a plush heart showing her unforgettable bond with the one who will forever be looking down on her.
My heart has a special place for Rainbow Babies. As you know, each month I hold a special giveaway for rainbow babies! I was so thrilled to add a few "rainbow baby" shots into her mini session.
Mini sessions include 5 digital images. They are baby only sessions and last around 60-90 minutes long. I choose one blanket backdrop and one prop. Each gallery consist of all the best images from the session. Clients then view their galleries and choose which images they wish to download! It is the most customizable and personalized way to ensure my clients are receiving the best service possible.
